Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University, Jakarta, Dr. Ir. Soelarno, M.Si., in his speech said that there is nothing in life that is not related to the world of agriculture, especially food issues.

“The food issue is very important. We hope that in the future the Muhammadiyah Association can play a role in thinking about food security issues. "Hopefully holding this activity can bring UMJ, especially the Faculty of Agriculture, to be superior and progressive," said Soelarno.

In line with this, the Chancellor of UMJ Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod reminded the importance of implementing Muhammadiyah Day activities as part of strengthening culture in Muhammadiyah. “Food security requires commitment. "If there is no commitment, there will be no food security," said Ma'mun in his speech.

In this activity, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between UMJ and PT. MUGEN , which will send 2 FTan UMJ students to take part in a work internship program to Japan. A total of 18 FTan UMJ students have passed the selection program and will depart in stages.

Like previous events, the VII Muhammadiyah Day was also celebrated with various activities. One of them was the Sharring Session which invited several FTan UMJ alumni to share their experiences, namely Ir. Basril Abbas (Researcher at the National Research and Innovation Agency), Suhendar, SP (Secretary of the Bojongsari District Head), Popi Palichan, SP. M.Sc. (Head of MNC News), and Dr. Iim Muharam, M.Sc. (Chair of the Agricultural Area Development Group of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture's Planning Bureau).

Apart from that, there were also religious lectures by the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Dr. H. Anwar Abbas, MM., M.Ag., who explained "The Role of Muhammadiyah in Mobilizing a Generation of Achievements for Indonesian Food Security".

“Education that takes place in the world of education must be able to improve the mentality of students. "I want when they graduate, these students will become entrepreneurs, not employees," said Anwar Abbas.

He further emphasized that the country must have food independence, not food security. This means that we must be able to produce food independently, not just be consumers. "In the midst of today's extraordinary competition, our task is to produce creative graduates. "For this reason, these children must be encouraged and supported so they can make innovations," said Anwar Abbas.
