Caring for Health, SEMESTA FKM UMJ Holds Community Service in Tanjung Pasir Village

SEMESTA Semi-Autonomous Institute , Faculty of Public Health, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (LSO FKM UMJ) carries out community service through the Village Care program entitled "Spread Concern to Improve the Health of the Tanjung Pasir Village Community" from 28-29 October 2023, at Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tanjung Pasir Village , Regency. Tangerang.

Several series are carried out in Village Care activities, including Health Checks , education to coastal communities regarding Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM), beach clean-up movements, and planting mangrove trees.

On this occasion, SEMESTA together with Deputy Dean 3 and 4 of FKM UMJ , Suherman S.PI., M.KM., M.Sc. Ph.D., planted 100 mangrove tree seedlings as a form of concern for the surrounding environment in maintaining nature conservation. LSO SEMESTA FKM UMJ also collaborates with the State Forestry Public Company (PERHUTANI) and the Tapas Jaya Forest Village Community Institute (LMDH) which will monitor mangrove tree planting periodically.

"SEMESTA is making a new breakthrough for FKM UMJ students, they are holding activities from far to remote areas to learn to serve society. "Maybe if I was still a student, I would immediately register to become a member of SEMESTA without thinking," said Suherman when interviewed.

The residents of Tanjung Pasir village seemed enthusiastic in welcoming the arrival of FKM UMJ students. Generally, the majority of residents in Tanjung Pasir village make their living as fishermen and traders. "I know a lot of friends, I definitely enjoy it when students do activities here," said one resident of Tanjung Pasir village.

Village Care Activities is a superior program owned by SEMESTA FKM UMJ. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can improve the health status of coastal communities in Tanjung Pasir village. "Hopefully this activity can provide positive results for the community, from SEMESTA to Indonesia," said the General Chair of SEMESTA FKM UMJ, Joko Priono.

Thus, SEMESTA continues to be committed to carrying out promotive and preventive tasks as a form of health care by collaborating together to make the community healthy.
