The Bachelor of Midwifery Study Program , University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (FKK UMJ) carried out emergency and disaster practices on the 3rd floor of the Fire and Rescue Command Center of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) office , from 30 to 31 October 2023. The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge and broaden insight. students directly about preparedness, disaster management and analyzing disaster management for vulnerable groups.

Chief Executive of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Drs. Isnawa Adji M.Ap opened this event accompanied by the Head of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Division, Chair of the Subgroup for the Department of Socio-Economic Recovery and Improvement.
Midwives are at the forefront of maternal and child health, so one of the implementers of midwifery services in managing midwifery services is when a disaster occurs and collaborates with other disaster management teams.
This activity consists of pre-disaster and post-disaster. Pre-disaster in the form of a disaster risk reduction program with structural mitigation in 6 locations, namely Petukangan Selatan, Jati Padang, Bintaro, Cipinang Melayu, Bidara Cina and Ulu Jami sub-districts. Post-disaster activities in the form of increasing the capacity of psychosocial support services for the community and apparatus were carried out at the BPBD DKI Jakarta office Jl. Kyai Haji Zainul Arifin No.71, RT.10/RW.10, Petojo Utara, Gambir District, Central Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta.
Students gain direct experience in the field regarding how to carry out structural mitigation by solving problems based on regional needs and conditions through Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Apart from that, they also received information and knowledge related to increasing the capacity of psychosocial support services, including Psychological First Aid (PFA), relaxation techniques, active listening techniques, emotional stabilization and communication techniques with survivors as well as the importance of positive self-care in providing optimal services.

This activity really supports the vision of the midwifery study program with the advantage of producing maternal and child health counselor midwives. Participants in this activity were 42 Midwifery Undergraduate Study Program students who were accompanied by supervisors Mrs. Yuni Istiananingsih, M.Keb, Mrs. Revinel, M.Keb, and Mrs. Heri R, SST, MKM.
